There will be at least one workshop for home canning! Your

Added 3 days after publication: This workshop is full, there remains room. Sorry, but there will probably be others. :)

canneux hello dear friends, I

summarizes the approach of the workshops. I planned a workshop to volunteer for a community organization, but it has crashed three times in succession.

For Community, sorry, it does not pass. Although the local community kitchen are abundant in Montreal they are generally not available on weekends, or only serve a clientele that a particular geographic area, or another thing that makes it fair ...

therefore had to turn to renting a private kitchen.

one I found in Montreal. It is not perfect for workshops, but it is entirely appropriate. There is a photo below. We will first workshop in this location, and if everyone is happy, I will give another the week after, and so on.

Given the comments I had in the last survey, I consider giving different workshops to better meet the demand. For example, there will probably be a different workshop, just to compare different models of autoclaves available, but later.

I'll start with a workshop, Canned 101, and I'll see then.

First, what. Canned

101

This workshop aims to introduce people interested in home canning to basic techniques. We will demonstrate the technique of sterilization of acidic foods in boiling water and also try the technique of sterilization of low acid foods in an autoclave. If you are considering making homemade preserves, or If you're new to home canning, this workshop is for you.

It would at least;
  • The presentation of the material for making preserves.
  • A practical demonstration and participation of each of the two methods of sterilization of canned foods.
  • periods of open questions.
  • tasting.
  • And everyone leaves her jar of pickled beets best in the world, and his bowl of excellent soup with carrots (the wisest will have two). The workshop
lasted 4 hours and would be a small group of 8 persons.

On the menu there:
